John Anthony started a new project with the Philadelphia-based Irish band SOLAS. Shamrock City, which has been funded by fans via Kickstarter, is a multimedia project that will feature a new studio album along with a DVD video. Inspiration for the band’s latest effort comes from Seamus Egan‘s own family tree, as well as the general history of Irish immigrants in Butte.
Those that donated to the project will be receiving an exclusive 4-song EP ahead of the official full-length release. Back in August, John Anthony and Bryan McGee traveled with the band to Butte, MT to record and film live performances of the songs that will be featured on the album. A follow-up location shoot is in the works, and completion is expected closer to the end of the year.
