Philly Post’s John Anthony and Director/DP Christopher Landy worked together to produce four new TV spots for The Atlantic Club Casino. The project was managed from concept through delivery, with John Anthony taking the lead on production, Bryan handling onsite logisticsand project coordination, and Scott Waz and John Baker on sound design and audio mix. Editing, graphics, and DaVinci Resolve color grade were done by Chris.

Look for the spots to air on 6 ABC, NBC 40, and on a variety of cable channels.

John Anthony edited a PSA for World Malaria Day 2012 featuring UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal.  John worked closely with producer Victor Sonder, who was on-location at UN headquarters in New York for the filming. The result is a call to action that sheds light on an important issue affecting millions of people.

Since the end of the 2011 baseball season, we’ve been producing videos for the very popular blog Phillies Nation. We’re very happy to announce that what started as a monthly internet show has evolved into a weekly television show. A partnership was struck with Service Electric’s 2 Sports in the Lehigh Valley that will bring the show into 294,000 homes in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Seeing as 2 Sports is the home of the Iron Pigs, there will no doubt be more coverage of the Phils’ minor league farm system.

The show is shot at Yards Brewery on Deleware Avenue, and scheduled to air the first week of March. Bryan McGee is shooter, editor, and mixer.

We were happy to host Hollywood super-star (and Philly native) Will Smith for a great session of ADR.  Scott Waz (ADR Mixer) worked with Will on the upcoming Columbia release Men in Black 3. The latest installment in the MiB series has the agents kicking alien butt while traveling through time.

Red Tettemer + Partners has become the first Philadelphia ad agency to create a Superbowl spot, and we were there to handle the audio. Leading up to the reveal of the :30 spot, three additional “teaser” spots were created to play prior to the game, and released online to build anticipation. John Baker took the lead on sound design and mix for the ads which will air on the most anticipated night in television advertising. All four spots were mixed in 5.1 surround and feature original music by Patrick De Caumette.

The 30-second ad stars the real estate king, Donald Trump, “Prime Time” Deion Sanders, and eight-time Olympian Medalist Apolo Anton Ohno. Look for the spot in the third quarter of the game, and check out the teasers below.

Gain Laundry Detergent has a new spokesperson, the always hilarious Wanda Sykes. She brings a fresh approach and style to the brand that’s “anything but ordinary.”

John Baker recorded the voiceover with Wanda for several new TV ads that will begin airing soon. In the meantime, here’s a 15-second teaser that the company released, entitled “Your Own Way.”

John Baker, Bryan McGee, and Scott Waz traveled to Swarthmore College to record the score for the film “Beirut,” directed by the award-winning Philadelphia filmmaker Eugene Martin. The score was composed and conducted by Thomas Whitman of Swarthmore College, and performed by the Network for New Music Ensemble at Swarthmore’s Lang Concert Hall.

The film is based on oral history interviews with four generations of African American women from a troubled North Philadelphia neighborhood known as “Beirut;” Martin depicts the fierce passion these women have for their city, and their loyalty to it, despite the fact that their neighborhood is classified as one of the twelve most dangerous in the United States. John Anthony started a new project with the Philadelphia-based Irish band SOLAS. Shamrock City, which has been funded by fans via Kickstarter, is a multimedia project that will feature a new studio album along with a DVD video. Inspiration for the band’s latest effort comes from Seamus Egan‘s own family tree, as well as the general history of Irish immigrants in Butte.

Those that donated to the project will be receiving an exclusive 4-song EP ahead of the official full-length release. Back in August, John Anthony and Bryan McGee traveled with the band to Butte, MT to record and film live performances of the songs that will be featured on the album. A follow-up location shoot is in the works, and completion is expected closer to the end of the year.

Philly Post completed two TV spots for EFK Group, for their client, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
The spots were co-produced by John Anthony and Chris Landy, who directed and shot. Chris also cut and color-graded the spots at Philly Post. John Baker contributed sound design, music and mix, while Bryan oversaw voiceover casting and deliveries.
The spots were exceedingly well received by our clients at EFK, as well as by their clients at the college. The spots begin airing today.
